Led by Ben Sutherland, Bare Architecture brings practical construction knowledge into the design space. Prior to studying architecture, Ben began his career as a builder at just 16, giving him a hands-on understanding of how homes are actually put together. That experience shapes every design decision, resulting in homes that are not only beautiful on paper, but functional, durable, and cost-efficient on site.

We believe simplicity is at the core of good design and fundamental to crafting environments that are beautiful, sustainable and can be enjoyed for years to come. Our approach is about getting the basics right and finding opportunities to do more with less, while bringing an appreciation of collaboration, craft, material efficiency and environmental responsibility to our architecture.
